Stage diving + Crowd surfing
- Considered to have been made popular by Iggy Pop
- Requirements: Acquire the right angle while falling, be sure to be able to overjump the gap between the stage and the audience if there is one, make sure to have a dense enough crowd to jump into, be sure the audience like you more than they like the laughs of watching you crush, money/ mobile/ jewelry, leave it behind or say goodbye, be drunk enough to not feel pain, just in case
Pogo
- It may come from African tribes dance, it may not
- Basic steps: Jump up and down while staying in the same place.
- Be creative: Keep your torso rigid or thrash it about, hold your arms stiffly at your sides or flail them, keep your legs together or kick about, jump straight up and down or in any direction or spinning in the air.
Headbanging
- There arguments about when it became official . Its birth is associated with Led Zeppelin and Motorhead concerts.
- Preferences: The longer the hair the better, don’ t try it if you don’ t have a sense of rhythm, bang your body along with your head or else prepare for serious headaches and a stiff neck. Feel free to move your head up and down or in a circular motion, alone or in a line with your friends.
Moshing
- When the audience pushes each other
- There are many styles like the “wall of death”, the “mosh pit”, etc.
- Preferences: Don’ t do it if your are afraid to get hurt and don’ t consider it a chance to sort out differences. Violence is fun only when it’ s unreasonable.
Air guitar
- The most creative of them all! Pretend to play the guitar and be as much of a virtuoso as you like. If you want you can add dance moves, singing, switch to some air drum playing, play riffs or solos and if you practise enough you can compete in the “Air Guitar World Championship” and live your moment of fame
Circle pit
- Consists of people with an aggressive attitude running in a circle going nowhere in particular
- Instructions: Forget your good manners. You are not bounded to stay in the line, to run in the right direction or try not to push anyone. Enjoy being rude!
Sign of the horns
- If you are a teenage rocker I’ m sure you have posed in a lot of photos doing the sign of the horns. If you are not a teenager and still pose like that, you are preventing your friends’ photos from being facebook material. Though it’ s advisable for all ages, you may want to hide these photos from your grandmother since they tend to associate it with the devil. The sign of the horns has a long history and it even has its own emoticon \m/
